JUN SUGIMAE

1983年大阪府生まれ。

2004年上田安子服飾専門学校卒業。在学中にでテーラリングを学び、卒業後ロンドンへ渡る、ブランドのアシスタント、オペラ衣装制作などファッションの経験を積む。2006年に帰国、スポーツファッションに身を置きながら制作を開始。スニーカーやマウンテンパーカーなど現代のプロダクトに針と糸だけで補修や装飾する「刺し子」の手法を用いた作品を発表している。

Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1983.

Graduated from Ueda Yasuko Fashion School in 2004. Learned tailoring while in school and gained experience in fashion such as assisting brands and producing opera costumes. After graduating, went to London. Returned to Japan in 2006 and began creating works while working in sports fashion. Presents works using the technique of "sashiko," repairing and decorating modern products such as sneakers and mountain parkas with just needle and thread.
