襤褸をモチーフにスニーカーやマウンテンジャケットなど現代のプロダクトに手で刺し子を施していく。一見アンバランスだが刺し子はそれを物理的に繋ぐことができ一体化させることで全く新しい表情を作り出せる。

襤褸と刺し子
襤褸に施されている無数の縫い目。それが刺し子の原点である。
襤褸とは、擦り切れては布を当て刺し子を施す、この循環を何度も繰り返し、幾重にも層になった布である。
刺し子によって襤褸が生まれ、襤褸によって刺し子が生まれた。
限られた資源、環境の中、生み出された知恵の結晶であり、防寒、補強、補修、装飾と必要に応じて発展してきた。
そんな襤褸の刺し子を現代に引き継ぎ後世に残していくことが大事である。
